Until recently, the more products an affiliate sold, the higher the commission rate they earned over time.
Because RMRS was selling such a high volume of products for Amazon, the commission rate climbed to 8%.
At this rate, it was advantageous for RMRS to promote high priced items.

While many websites have been drastically affected by this change it should not cause too much pain for RMRS. Amazon has set apparel, jewelry, luggage, shoes, and watches at a 7% commission.
While “health and personal care” products have fallen to 4.5%, luxury beauty items have risen to 10%.
