Lots of new input today!
+ First of all – I FINALLY got an article done in under 24 hours today!! Embodying commandment no.4 – Execute The Task On Time.
+ Don’t forget to disable ads on sponsored videos
+ Document title isn’t really necessary to fill out
Great news today – we’re getting so far ahead of ourselves that Antonio can’t make enough videos to keep up with the writers!!! This means we need to spend 2-4 hours a day coming up with ideas from now on (so I’m thinking 3-5 hours writing, 30 mins continued education and 30 mins for whatever edits and fiddly bits come up during the day.)
Ideas need to be based on:
- Articles & videos that have done really well for other sites
- Timeless Style Issues
- Style Issues that target our demographic (professional men over age 30 in transition who need to up their game)
- Confidence issues
Put yourself in the mind of a male, age 30+, and see if you can identify their pain points and problems.
In order for this to work well – the points, headlines, and topics HAVE to be STRONG.
Send Travis the ideas, points, and strong headlines, and he’ll pick the best ones to write.
Travis pointed me at a video that Antonio made on this subject and I’ve roughly transcribed what he said:
So they’re running out of things to work on. Go back to the Art of Manliness, and look at things that have done well. Like ‘this is a timeless piece of information that will be easy to sit a sponsor in on.’ Much of what I wrote for the Art of Manliness over the last 8 years is timeless, is solid. And you could go back and redo this, and you give the writers something to build off of, but to make better. To go in and learn from the comments.
So google ‘art of manliness style’. Pretty much you know if I’ve written it over there, it’s just something that ‘s going to work. What’s popping up at the top? ‘101 Style Tips for Men’. This one looks like it did pretty well.
That’s a pretty good title right there – ‘Secrets for Style Rookies’. Nothing wrong with stealing – now, we’ll make it better and we’ll improve on it. ‘How A Man Should Dress In His 20s.’ Talks about 20s, 30s, 40s – I’ve actually got these articles written, and if you go back – but right now they could build off of the 20s, 30s and 40s.
Hair Archives. Style Tips For The Blue-Collar Man. Casual Fashion Tips are always needed, getting your casual fashion right. 10 Casual Style Tips for Men Who Want To Look Sharp. You don’t have to put the numbers in, you can see naturally where they go. How To Restart Your Style In Your 30s. How to find your style when you’re a 35-year-old man, or divorced.
And Kinowear – a lot of the time, they put their most popular. Read Our Best Blogs. You can come here and get some ideas. Apply The 80/20 Rule To Your Style. How To Organize Your Wardrobe – that’s pretty solid, pretty timeless. The writers should be coming up with ideas, and we want to think timeless.
- Resources for researching ideas: Kinowear (look at most popular articles), Art Of Manliness (COMMENT SECTION to see what they missed in the article), Reddit MFA thread, Effortless Gent, etc.
I really like AoM so that’s where I’ll be focusing to start off with.
