When pinning images on Pinterest, it’s important to post high quality and tall images and add keyword rich description with a call to action to drive traffic to the website.
- Adding Pins – When uploading images from your desktop or mobile. Click on the red button at the upper right side of the website and click on “Create pins”
- To automatically pin from the website, click on the “Save” button in the RMRS to promote the new articles or video. (Hover on the image and click on the save button.) – (Download the Pinterest extension from Chrome)
- Taller pins are more noticeable in the news feed. Pin image that has 554 pixels wide without restriction on length, but up to 5000 pixels high.
- Edit description using keywords to ramp up your SEO. Use Call To Action to increase engagement (Click on the image to learn more)
- Add web links to your descriptions and choose a specific board where you want to add your pin to.
- Tag users/brands using @symbol or use #hashtag for keyword search/search engine optimization
- Pin images morning and evening – (central time) best to pin more images during the weekend.
- When pinning videos:
- make sure you slide on the cover selector left or right to the image in your video that you would like as your cover photo
- give the Pin a title, description, and add it to a board using the drop down menu under ‘Choose a board’
- Enter a website to link the video or image to
- Click Publish
- You can upload up to 2 GB of video at once.
- Once your video Pin is created, Pinterest will review it within 24 hours to make sure it doesn’t violate our Community Guidelines
- When re-pinning images from other websites, click before you repin to see if pins are sourced to a legitimate website and if the description is SEO optimized. Check the source before you pin from other images. Repin from various sources rather than one and repin images with the most number of pin. (repin images related to RMRS – classy and timeless style)
- Check for trending topics that we can leverage on and pin articles we have in the RMRS website
- Create Pinterest Boards – Create Board Title Name and Description – an eye-catching title that resonates with RMRS readers. Be creative.
- Make name searchable (use hashtag and keywords)
- Search for the title on Pinterest and find out if people are using it as well.
- Create boards with 5 images each and set board cover image.
- Create a few boards that cover a lot of interests: Tips and tricks, Tutorials, Quotes, Infographics, Product in motion, Products and Services
- Make sure to remove promo banners/thumbnails that have expired already.
- Make sure to engage with other pinners. Like and reply to comments.
- When uploading videos,
- Look at the trending topics on Pinterest related to what we post in RMRS
- Follow minimum one board who repinned your pin or have more pins of RMRS in their board.
- Rotate Pinterest boards every month. Focus on seasonal and trending topics
- Promote RMRS products and courses ( e.g. The Style System or RMRS podcasts, etc) once a week.
