RMRS Video Checklist

SOP – Video Creation

  1. Download the raw video(s) and recorded audio(s)
    • Antonio shares the raw files which are from 6GB – 25GB in size
  2. Open Premiere and input the raw files
    • Create a sequence (raw sequence)
      • Right click on the first video clip then click “New Sequence From Clip”
      • Add the other video clips on the new sequence
      • Line up camera audio and recorded audio
        • Make sure that the recorded audio was normalized, use “Normalize to -0.1 dB” effects on Audition.
    •  View footage and select the final takes
      • While viewing the footage, take note of the following:
        1. Title
        2. Steps or Tips (counter check in IK)
        3. Quotes (or any texts that need emphasis)
        4. Possible Infographic (what’s needed)
  3. Title Slide Creation (for Tips/Steps)
    • Create the slide for each tips/steps based on the notes (or IK)
  4. Create a new sequence (for final video rendering) – Main RMRS Video Sequence
    • Use a 24p, 1920×1080 sequence
    • Import the 3-second RMRS intro
    • Add the raw sequence
    • Add the lower third for Antonio’s name/position
    • Add the RMRS logo
    • Add the title slides (for Tips/Steps) accordingly
  5. Add b-roll and infographic
    • Add an infographic if needed
      • Get it from the website or Tina
    • Add/use b-roll videos as much as possible
      • Get it from Video Pexels or Thomas
    • Add stock images
      • Get if from Pexels, Unsplash, or Flicker image repository
      • For clothing (suits) – Suit Supply, Brooks Brothers
    • Grab from Google but make sure to edit it and don’t show faces
  6. Adjust the colors, lightness, etc. (Color Grading)
    • Adjust the color balance or add the color settings from Thomas
  7. Review and tighten up the video
    • The goal is to make the final video at least 8 – 10 minutes, if possible
    • It’s okay to have a 15-minute (or longer) video if it’s full of information
    • Double check the spellings and grammar
  8. Exporting/Uploading the “Review Copy”
    • Export the main sequence in medium bitrate for faster rendering
    • Upload it on ATS, and share/send the link on IK or via email
      • Tag Gavin, Sam, Jane, Raf (Writer)
    • TIME: 1 hour – 3 hours
      • Depends on the following:
        1. Size and length of the video
        2. Internet speed

  1. Update the video based on the feedback
    • Export the updated video with the “YouTube 1080p HD” settings
    • Upload the updated/final video on the main channel and share/send the link on IK or via email
      • Tag Gavin, Sam, Jane, Peter Pham (Email Bots)
      • Add a video playlist on the end screen

IMPORTANT KEY POINTS!

  1. For Sponsored Videos – mention/show the sponsor before the 2 min time frame
  2. Make sure to give importance on the intro (and/or the 1st 2-3 min of the video)
    • Make it tight, brief, and concise
  3. Common Video Mistakes Include:
    • Antonio’s shirt collar is off
    • There’s a blatant mistake in his outfit
    • His hair is messed up
    • Misspellings/Typos/Grammatical errors
    • Not RMRS owned images being used
  4. If in doubt, ask questions.
  5. Upload the review copy on the ATS Channel.
  6. Once approved, upload it on the main RMRS channel.
  7. Make sure to add the video playlist on the end screen of the final video.
  8. Make sure to add the video links of the review copy and the final video on the Influence Kit.
  9. Have fun editing!
