The following information contains the Standard Operation Procedures for the Content Manager when performing self-reviews of demonetised videos in the back-end of YouTube. All information is accurate as of the 14th of August 2019.
- Find the video in question.
- Watch the video on 1x speed.
- Open the YouTube channel back-end.
- Look for the label “Monetization”.
- Select the greyed out dollar sign icon.
- Select “Edit in Creator Studio Classic”.
- Select the “Monetize with ads” scrollbar.
- Click “Self-rate my video”.
- Review each section and select appropriate bubbles representing the content of the video.
- If the only bubble that applies to every section is None (Allow ads), then scroll to the top and select
- “I certify that this video is appropriate for all audiences and does not contain inappropriate language, adult content, violence, harmful or dangerous acts, drug-related content, hateful content, firearms-related content, or sensitive issues”
- Select “Done”.
- Click Save Changes and wait for a few minutes.
- Close the video and check under the label “Monetization” for a green dollar sign.
- If this is still gray – contact the Senior Technical Officer.
